![]() In regards to choices when The Voice says that there are no good or bad choices, just consequences, they mean it. Had the story been bad then the game would have fallen apart because there was nothing else to hold it together but luckily it was good. I don’t say this as a slight against the game because the story was great. Most of the game is you making choices and interacting with the environment to proceed. There isn’t much in terms of “game play” here. The music was also very interesting as it made me think of an Eastern European disco and a cyberpunk synth type of vibe. I don’t think the game would have grabbed a hold of me the way it did if they had of held back. The nightclub full of hamsters comes to mind. There are a lot of points which are pretty macabre, to the point where I surprised the developers took it as far as they did but was glad they did. Misfortune has a interesting accent and way of speaking which is a mix of child and adult. There are moments which are sad, funny and in between and they nail all of them. The art style is great and carries onto the credits which is a unique one. I disliked the puzzles in Fran Bow so Little Misfortune was basically giving me what I enjoyed from Fran Bow and leaving out what I didn’t. Fran Bow was a puzzle game that had a fantastic narrative while Little Misfortune is just a narrative game without the puzzles. I can understand that because I have the opposite reaction for the same reasons. I canI have seen a lot of people online saying how they liked Fran Bow but didn’t like Little Misfortune due to the lack of puzzles. Grand Theft Auto V: Premium Online Edition. The main problem is that the game promises players meaningful choices, but the game doesn't actually have any. But I can see people who paid more being dissapointed. I was lucky steam games are extremely cheap in my country, so in my case I don't feel like I wasted my money (I got the game on january for the current equivalent of 1.5 dollars). I think this game is obviously not a scam and I understand that it costs a lot to make games like this, but it still feels overpriced to me. Though I have to agree about the artwork and animations. Personally I can't remember any of it's songs. The soundtrack is fine, but I wouldn't call it fantastic. Having the players discuss among themselves about the story is fine, but I don't think there's much to discuss with this game.Īlso, this game barely has any voice actors, and one of them is already the creator so I don't know if she had to pay herself to voice act. It's definitely easier than having to tell things, though. I don't think having an ambiguous story is always a positive. I can't really speak about the price because steam games are very cheap in my country, but 20 dollars seems insanely expensive. Even though the game has 2 endings (actually, both endings are the same except that the "good ending" has an extra scene), those aren't determined by your choices but by how much glitter you threw. Most choices change a line of dialogue in the future at most, but have no impact on the actual story. There's not really any discovery, and your choices don't really matter despite how the game promotes itself. Spoilers about the choices in the game and the ending ahead: Well, that's right. Gonna try and replay to see if the story would be different, but to me it felt like I was just clicking through a short story with the plot revealed in the very last minute. I expected more "discovery" gameplay, but the only gameplay were the choices you made along the way and I hardly experienced what the consequences of those choices were. ![]() Originally posted by Ave Medusa:I agree, but that is one of the reasons why I think the game is a bit expensive.
