![]() Raising legions of the dead at ancient battlefields is an AWESOME touch. I especially love how the Necromancers were implemented, going insane by raising the dead until they defile their mortal bodies and become Liches, or Vampires that eat villages to restore their sanity. There is a huge amount of variety in how the 18 different classes conduct warfare as well, giving the game hours and hours of replay value even if you don't engage in multiplayer. ![]() The game seems a little intimidating at first, but once you realize all you need to do is recruit units and move them around it becomes much faster to play. I love this game, it is a really great pure strategy experience where your decisions at the highest level play out in automated tactical battles. Scouts needed to detect stealthy troops, something better (a star spawn or a beast bat will work) needed to detect the invisible ones. Spell system with about 50 magic paths.And they are quite different from each other, both in what resources they need and what kind of rituals or special abilities they have. Hotseat and network support for multiplayer games.Skeletons are difficult to injure with piercing weapons and you should preferably use slashing weapons against treemen, etc. New weapon system, attacks are divided into pierce, slash or blunt damage (magic attacks have other types too).Exploding phoenixes (and they are immortal too). ![]()
